Bristol publican Ben Flack is a World Masters Pool Champion              Friday, July 10, 2009

Ben Flack will be back pouring pints in St George on Monday as a double world champion following England's success at pool's World Team Championship in Blackpool.

The 30-year-old Bristol publican won the decisive frame to give England a 7-6 lead in their 8-6 victory over Australia in yesterday's final, which followed Flack's individual success in the final of the World Masters earlier in the week, in which he beat former world champion Ben Davies 10-8.

Flack has thoroughly enjoyed his two weeks in Blackpool, in which he won nine matches en route to Masters glory and was beaten by world champion Gareth Potts in the last eight of the Men's Singles World Championship.

"This has been the best two weeks of my life – it's absolutely awesome," said Flack, who runs The Three Crowns in Blackswarth Road.

"I won both of my frames in the team final against Australia and beat a guy called Tim Shelton to make it 7-6. Now I've got the weekend off, which will be great, and then it's back to work on Monday.

After that I will carry on with my other tournaments as normal – it's always pretty hectic."
